The Real Theatre Co. Presents – OLEANNA by David Mamet

The second production for 2020 will be the David Mamet play OLEANNA. To be staged in Auckland’s Herald Theatre at the Aotea Centre, from Wednesday the 25th November to Saturday 28th at 7.30pm.

The play will then be transferred to the Meteor Theatre in Hamilton (yet to be confirmed).

We are also exploring the possibility of staging it in Napier at a later date.

OLEANNA is a two character production which explores the power struggle between a University Professor and one of his female students, who accuses him of sexual harassment, and in doing so, spoils his chances of being awarded tenure.

For this production we have been fortunate to secure the involvement of well known professional New Zealand actor John Leigh in the role of the professor.

John Leigh

John Leigh has been in many New Zealand professional film, television and theatre productions including; Shortland Street, The Almighty Johnsons, Outrageous Fortune, Lord of the Rings, Mercy Peak, Hamlet to name a few.

Greta Van Den Brink

Greta Van den Brink will play the role of the student. Greta graduated from the Actor’s Program in Auckland in 2019. She had a major role in their end of year production; Thebes.

OLEANNA will be directed by David Coddington.
